The department that works in infectious diseases
has the following objectives:
- the study of new techniques (molecular biology) which will contribute to an early and noninvasive diagnose
- the study of some modalities of prevention and treatment for these diseases
- assuring medical assistance for the general population
The effective activity of the STD laboratory
consists in:
- culturing, identifying and differentiating the uro-genital Mycoplasma, test of susceptibility to antibiotics
- detection of the LPS antigen for Chlamydia Trachomatis using mono and polyclonal antibodies enzyme labeled
- detection of antibodies anti Chlamydia Trachomatis by ELSA tests
- detection of the Chlamydia Trachomatis”s genome by PCR
- optimization of the PCR for detection of the Mycoplasma genitalium genome
- diagnose of the HSV infection by immunofluorescence and ELISA tests
